who we are

Winding Creek Nursery is a family owned and operated nursery in Southwest Michigan.

Winding Creek Nursery is a family owned and operated retail and wholesale nursery, conveniently located close to US 131, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. We are Michigan natives who take pride in growing Michigan Native trees, such as the Sugar Maple, Red Maple, White Oak, Red Oak and more. We also grow many other popular cultivars to fit the needs of your landscaping projects. All the trees grown at our nursery are deciduous shade and ornamental trees, grown in the ground until they are sold. This ensures a healthy tree that is already acclimated to Michigan weather. Once a tree is sold, it will be dug with a tree spade and placed in burlap with a wire basket. Our farm is mostly clay, assuring a solid and healthy root ball. We also stock and can special order evergreen trees from other quality wholesale Michigan tree farms.

our history

• 2003 -

  Winding Creek Nursery was founded. We specialize in quality hardwood trees for landscape purposes. We started the nursery because we enjoy landscaping and planting trees. We also enjoy the benefits of having trees around our home. We particularly like the shade the trees provide and the money we save on our energy bill all summer long. We have continued planting trees every year since.
  

• 2007 -

  We added to our nursery family by hiring our first part-time employee. Every year we have continued to add more varieties of trees and equipment to handle and care for the trees.

• 2011 -

  Our first crop of trees were ready for the public to purchase.
  

• 2012 -

  We again added to our nursery family with the hiring of our first full-time salesman. We also began our tree delivery and planting services.
  

• 2013 -

  Into 2013 we upgraded our website. Soon you will be able to enjoy our new office space that will have a comfortable front porch to use while you wait for trees to be loaded onto your truck or trailer.

• 2014 -

  Construction was completed on our new office, including a new barn and storage area. We planted over 800 trees and added 10 new species that will be available for sale in the spring of 2015.

• 2017 -

  We continue to plant 2000 plus trees every spring to grow our stock to larger sizes and have continued to diversify our varieties that we offer.
